About the Class

What are Soft Skills? Simply put, they are people skills (or rather, the core skills) that we all need to thrive in our daily environments.

In studies done by Harvard University, Stanford Research Center, The Carnegie Foundation and more, we see that 85% of business success is directly linked to how well you demonstrate strong soft skills- with most jobs requiring the ability to represent, communicate, collaborate, and exercise critical thinking.

In our post-pandemic, technology-saturated world we see that Gen Z (teens and young adults) have experienced a 50% decline in these skills, with alarming reports of anxiety around simple everyday tasks- such as making a phone call or talking about yourself in an interview.

We, at TAS, want to do our part to help provide teens and adults with the knowledge, tools, and experience  to thrive in their daily lives by maximizing these important interpersonal skills.

We are excited to apply our motto of Confidence Makers to more than just actors- We want to be Confidence Makers in our entire community!

What can students expect?

With over 20 years of experience in cultivating a safe space for students to grow, we are excited to bring the same benefits to our Offline Communications students that our acting students enjoy. Such as:

  • Small Class sizes.
  • On-going and personalized feedback.
  • A hands-on approach to lessons that facilitates interactive learning.
  • A 32 week course that grows with the students as they progress through the year.
  • Built in tasks and challenges to test comprehension and development.

What is covered in the course?

  • Face to face communication, such as small talk, interview, networking, and more!
  • Active Listening
  • Eye contact
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Collaboration
  • Presentation
  • Healthy mindsets around personal growth

What are people saying?

We opened up our studio and asked the community to share their thoughts on why confidence and communication are so important.
